Johann Friedrich Franz Burgmüller is a German composer born in Regensburg on December 4, 1806 and died of Beaulieu (France) on February 16, 1974.

His father was a composer and theater director in Weimar. There Johann attended his musical studies, until he moved to Paris, where he lived until his death.

He composed numerous pieces for piano salon music, waltzes, nocturnes, ballet, ballroom dancing and polonaises.

But his fame among piano students is given by his piano pieces for beginners. We talk about his op. 109 with 19 studies (Les perles, L'Orage, etc.), op. 105 with 12 studies, and op. 100 with pieces like Progresse, Inquietude, Douce Plainte, Arabesques, Innocence or La Candeur, which is the piece that we present here.
